In the great tradition of Alexander, the Great and Genghis Khan who mastered horseback riding with their armies to conquer their adversaries, we honor the horse in this exquisite carving of gem material sapphire.
The engine of both ancient conquest and industry, the noble horse has carried whole civilizations through history. These sapphire blue stallions are portrayed riding side by side, speaking to the horse’s dynamism, power, and multifaceted cultural influence. At the Memorial Day Classic Horse Show, Sapphire Horse won the Lexus of Glendale Memorial Grand Prix prize.
Sapphire bested a field of 25 starters with a double clear round and the fastest jump-off in 41.176 seconds.
This carving, portraying the Sapphire Horse has been carved from blue sapphire, sourced from Madagascar.
